Year entered the project 2020
Abner is currently our only student set to graduate in 2026. He is from the small village outside of La Campa, Lempira in the foothills of Mount Celaque. He is the oldest of 3 siblings. His dad is a pastor and his mother is a stay at home mom. He entered the Project originally in 2020 before the pandemic shut down everything at the end of March. He was one of 4 students we had returning when the Project was finally able to open its doors again. Abner is a quiet, intentional young man. Like many of his peers he has a love for soccer. He has played a vital role as a member of the Project’s soccer team and he is an excellent goalkeeper. Abner is more apt to lead by example and let his actions speak for themselves. He has the passive charisma of an older brother amongst his peers at the Project. He was chosen to be a mentor (room leader) at the start of 2024. He has great potential to be a leader here and beyond as he continues to develop those capacities. He is studying computer science and hopes to attend university after graduation.
