Jairo came to the project in 8th grade. He is from a community outside of Belen Gualcho, Ocotepeque. Jairo has grown up helping his family farm the necessary crops to survive. They spend their rest time playing guitar and singing together. The community also is home to a number of our current students. With limited access to educational resources and having to dedicate hours walking every day to school it would not be feasible for the students from this community to continue studying when their parents would need their support to put food on the table. Jairo is a quiet, dedicated worker. He likes to study and is always engaged in the classes and lessons here at the Project. He plans to study Business Administration after he completes the ninth grade.
